it’s so interesting to read this more than a decade after she wrote it. so much about miley has changed, and i think it would be even more interesting to read a book about her next ten years.

There was a period in which I loved Miley Cyrus. I watched her tv series, I followed her through social media (even if I didn't have any) and, as soon as it came out, I read this book.
It is an autobiography/biography which revolves around Miley's childhood, adolescence and a whole lot of family. I actually really liked it.
Now, I probably wouldn't have read it. Her behavior in the past few years wasn't her best, I wasn't a fan of it. I did appreciate her for taking distance from the Disney crew, but I wasn't pleased withhher life choices.
That said, I liked this book and I recommend it if you are/were a fan of her earlier days in the television business.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book because it shows that everyone is equal and even celebrities can suffer. It is written in a way that really made me connect with her, just like she's talking to a trusting friend. Loved it!

An actually decent book about Miley's life and rise to fame. It was still a waste of time in my opinion though, considering if you have seen her Twitter or anything of the like you know what she is like. This does seem to be her talking to it is quite relatable for younger girls and she does portray a good image: believing in yourself, believing in God, etc.

All in all it was an alright book, great for the demographic she is aiming for but I would have liked it to not be so cookie cutter. Maybe we'll get a grittier biography when she leaves Disney.

For what this book is trying to do, it's really good. Feel-good inspo for tween girls, Christian propaganda from when Disney was at it's peak of exploiting Christianity, a puff piece for their money-maker child star. It does all of that really really well.

I'd love to see Miley do another memoir in the next 5-10 years and then again late in life. I was firmly in Miley's demo when she was Hannah Montana, and I'm still a fan of hers. This book was written right before she really started forming as the Miley we know today. I want to see what she has to say about how her life and perspective has changed since she was 16--there's a ton in here about her dad being the perfect man, she'd never smoke, she feels bad for people who don't "know Jesus", she wears a purity ring (a ring she also planned to wear as a wedding ring???? and just add another diamond?????), Disney is amazing, and of course boys boys boys (mostly Nick Jonas).

Hilary Liftin did a great job of co-writing or ghost-writing this. I wonder if Miley actually sat down to write any of it (she wrote a lot of her songs as a kid so I don't think it's totally out of the question) or if Hilary did interviews of Miley and her family to piece it all together. I'd love a fully Miley-written memoir in the future.

It was a cute, quick read. My friend recommended this book to me and it was interesting to read through Miley's rise to fame. Not something I would reread or recommend unless you're a Miley fan.
