It's kind of a massive undertaking to follow five characters through four years of high school. Hats off to Ms. Mackler for trying and for creating five such different characters. However, the result for me was a story a mile wide and an inch deep. I wanted to really dig into some part of this narrative, and everything felt very surface.

A coming-of-age story, which follows five teens as they "embark" on their journey through high school. Kind of reminded of me the Breakfast Club in terms of angst and emotions. However, found this story a little boring and longer than it needed to be. 3/5.
This book tells the story of five teenagers over the course of their four years of high school. That's it...
A story that takes place over four years is impossible, there aren't enough pages to tell the whole story. Then you add in the fact that it is telling fice stories because the POV changes for each chapter. There is absolutely no character development.

This book was really inspiring. I love the theme of surviving high school. The struggle felt very real for all characters, and I've always had an obsession for time capsules, so the fact that the five POV characters wrote a letter to their future selves was really cool. I mostly identified with Gregor and Whitney, and I really do ship their relationship. Mia was also easy to relate to and a great person, but sometimes I found her a little irritating. Jake was funny and adorable, and Zoe had an interesting personality and relationship with her mother. I feel this is a book that I could carry with me throughout high school. It was a fairly quick read, and pretty easy to comprehend. Overall, a great book for those starting high school.
ehh, it was okay. some parts felt really choppy and i wish the book wasnt broken up into as many parts. i liked the characters a lot, but the writing could've been better.
High school. 4 crazy long years. Where every event seems like it is world changing. And at the time, it is to you. Relationships come and go. Friends come and go. At the end of the day, you are the most important person to yourself.
Infinite in Between did a great job at showcasing how different 5 lives can be during the same 4 year time span. How people are capable of change and how your own life can change drastically at the drop of a hat.
One person may be discovering their sexuality. One person may be discovering long kept family secrets. Everyone will be discovering their identity. One person may have a tragic loss. Health, sickness, death, relationships, birth, music, camp, and so much more occurs during those 4 important years.
While friendships come and go, some friends are there to stay. Sometimes the most unlikely person becomes one of the most important people to you. And above all else, the person you can always rely on, is yourself.
This book was a fantastic take on how 5 people's lives could be so different and so similar at the same time. How 5 random people could end up becoming entangled in each other's lives in ways that aren't always known to them. I wish there were more books to see where these 5 friends end up in life. I was left with too many questions at the end and felt very unsatisfied.

I got this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first Mackler novel. It's easy to make parallels between Infinite in Between and the Breakfast Club, but being a fan of the 80's movie isn't a requirement for liking this Novel.
Mackler does an amazing job introducing a varied and diverse set of students and showing their struggles and strengths throughout high school. This is not a book you want to pick up if you're looking for adventure and a Big Suspenseful Climax. There are plenty of moments where I worried for our characters (who, by the way, all earned the title of Sweet Cinnamon Roll) and raced to the next page.
This is a book, rather, that may save someone. Someone who might be lonely traversing the first year of high school, or feels like no one understands. This is the book I wish I would have had as a young student, questioning not only my sexuality but my racial identity as a biracial woman.
Mackler doesn't just write heroes either. She writes That Annoying Person, That Jealous Person, That Person That Was Cool At First But Now You Can't Stand. She writes something real and nostalgic. This book is definitely one of my favorites.
P.S I just want to say I LOVE the prologue. Very reminiscent of Looking For Alaska with the numbers.

This book was very different from many others. For starters it was mostly focused on the real issues teenagers go through and not supernatural ones. It makes you feel understood (if you are a teen, I don't know about adults). These 5 teens meet each other during freshman orientation in which they are assigned to the same group. Throughout the book each persons' point of view is shown and their issues which are extremely relatable ,if you are their age. In the end they all join to finish what they started during freshman orientation.
The book shows as each character faces problem and start relationships, all of the main characters start very separate from the group but end up being friends by choice.
This was a book that made me stay up all night just to know what happens next ;even though the action in this book was not violent it was constantly keeping you wondering and making connections with people that do not even exist. I would recommend this book to all teenagers that feel like they don't fit in and feel like their differences won't be accepted.
I absolutely loved this book and would read it a thousand times if it where mine and not the library's.

This book was a little unrealistic. Not everyone faces the problems that occurred in it, but all the characters did. It was a good story and an interesting way of doing the plot. It was a little slow, but once I got the hang of everyone's story I loved it. Good book!
