You know what’s going to happen the whole way but it was a fun story to sit with for a while.

This book was not for me. I should have just stopped reading it, but i struggle to ever do that, always hopeful it'll get better. There was just too much misogyny, too much white guilt, too many gorey details, and not enough interest for me. I appreciate the idea, but the execution was just not what I wanted out of the book.

explain to me why this book spoke about misogyny in fictional books and then used all the same misogynistic tropes it was trying to call out ???  also the racism that got maybe 2 or 3 lines of referencing despite how virulent it was throughout the whole book ???

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires is a new favourite! The beginning was a little slow, but absolutely necessary! Once you get to the middle you won’t be able to put it down!
