That feeling when you’ve just read a book that makes you want to cry, but also leaves you with the warmest feeling? That’s this book. Augustus and Grace keep you entertained 24/7, and the book just kind of pulls you into a warm hug. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!

John Green, please give me my heart back. I'm struggling to function after reading this book.
Whilst many people don't understand the hype about this book, if it hits you, it hits hard.
Personally, I connected exceptionally well with the characters here- even if I didn't like them! I feel that John Green writes teenagers very well in the sense that some of the time we come out with some deeply profound sayings that can last as long as life itself, other times we say some really weird crap. His ideas and philosophies are very cleverly put across, and I swear, if you don't cry in it, you are heartless.

However if you don't like it, each to their own... But I think you are rather odd!

Did I want this book to end? - No.

I really love this book! But! I must say it is a bit overrated. I didn’t cry…and if you know me you know I cry quite easily…but like this book wasn’t even sad to me. The story is sad but overall I felt that it nothing crazily unpredictable happen and I tend to cry more when it’s unpredictable. I was a tad disappointed because I was expecting something sadder?? Maybe I’m just very heartless. Anyhow, the characters don’t feel very realistic to me, I know they’re supposed to be unique cancer kids or whatever but like what are they talking about half the time? Who talks like that?? The book also makes me feel stupid because I did not understand wholly their deep concepts. HOWEVER despite all of this I genuinely enjoy it a lot ♥️♥️♥️♥️

A Fault in Our Stars was mixed for me. I thought the main character was awesome and she is appropriately rye and sarcastic and definitely relate-able. It's how I wish I would handle having cancer, but I probably wouldn't actually be that cool.

Otherwise I had difficulty connecting or understand with the Gus character and didn't feel the fervent connection expressed by many others. However, this may be a case of extreme expectations - due to such positive reviews and love for the book - not being met.

I went into this book only knowing what I glimpsed of the movie trailers. I expected loads of sad and a quite a bit of sap. Instead I got a heap of sarcasm and wit, a bundle of philosophic navel hazing and a surprising lot of touching and genuine characters. I'm looking forward to my next J. Green read.

Beautiful story

« As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once. »

This was a captivating read. I was sucked in by the emotional plot line. I might have even cried a little.
