This is a list of the trigger warnings that were not included in my copy at least. Don’t click this spoiler if you don’t care about trigger warnings
<mention of abusive boyfriend, sexual assault, rape, parental neglect, alcoholism, descriptive scene where the mcs use drugs

So I went into this book blind like I normally do and my copy does not include a single trigger warnings. How the hell was that a good idea?

Now besides the complete neglect of a listed trigger warnings  the characters were really good on their own. They seemed real, they seemed like individuals you’d actually meet in real life. Now do I think their chemistry felt real? I think their relationship felt realistic but I don’t think they actually had chemistry if that makes sense.

I don’t know how to feel about this…

I feel like James & Ozzy had very little in common other than sex and trauma. I wasn't a big fan of the CNC scene either or the lack of safe words in any of the more intense sex scenes.

This was a reading I never know I needed.
“It’s love under no conditions”.

Ozzy is the sweetest yet a bit broken guy that you didn’t know you wanted.

This was the perfect reading which made me feel : đź« đź« đź« đź« đź« đź«  most of the time.
Even if some heavy subjects are discussed (TW rape / emotional abuse). It’s also a healing journey.

Trust fund James (now forced to join the working class since daddy cut her funds off) falls for a hot line cook, Ozzy. I liked how their relationship developed. Not a lot of angst or “should we or shouldn’t we.”  Made it less drama and more sweet. Some smut and consensual kinks between mains. Mention of SA but resolved.

In short: James wants to be an artist but her unsupportive rich parents said no, so she moved out. Needing money she gets a serving job at Orzo. Her and the hot line cook Ozzy hit it off and that’s when the heat cranks up!

I had a lot of fun with this and need 500 more books with Jeremy Allen White coded MMCS. My only complaint was the pacing it was a little weird at times and I wanted a touch more angst but overall a very fun read! There are some heavier themes though so take care to check trigger warnings!
