Another great book in this series. I was speed reading through this book. Because it was that good. I like Tara and her take charge attitude. She can back up her words. Tara is a big reason why I had such an enjoyable time reading this book. The other reason was Liam. He shows that he can be a great protector. Also, while Tara and Liam did not share a lot of screen time together as a couple, which is understandable as he is her number one suspect; still I could feel the connection between them. Just like this scene from the book: It is where Tara has just been shoot at and she confronts Liam. She acts so causal while telling Liam that she has just been shoot at. Liam somehow keeps his cool but barely. This scene showed me just how tough of a bad ass Tara really is and how much Liam has real feelings for Tara. He showed that he would go to the ends of the world to protect her.

My only fault with this book was that the crime itself while good focused on the crime somewhat but was not feeling like the main focus with not enough emphasis on the killer. The truth was slowly drawn out until the last third of the story when it flew by quickly. Yet, I will read the next book in this series.

Another great read from Laura Griffin in the Tracers series. Special Agent Tara knows that this case in Texas is going to be a tough one, especially coming off such a difficult raid. When a woman is found killed and mutilated in the woods Tara needs the help of the Delphi Center and security specialist Liam to get to the truth. Liam has to protect the identities and secrets of his clients but his company seems to be at the center of the mystery. Can Tara find a killer while protecting herself from her feelings for Liam? Or will he break through her barriers as they work together to bring down a killer? Great read, excited to read more from Ms. Griffin!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of my favorite books in the series (and at the same time, who can resist the Wolfe brothers =D ??)
I was soooo eager to read this book, especially when I saw that Liam was Mark's brother =D
As usual, Laura Griffin wrote a great book : a very twisted plot (this is one of the strong points of this series, we never expect the identity of the culprit ><), a captivating writing style, fascinating scientific explanations, endearing and very human characters and passion =D
HUUUUGE frustration at the end because even though apparently there is going to be a spinoff series about Wolfe's team, it's not for now and I SO need to have the story of MJ and Jeremy like immediately =D
This book had everything I like in my suspense romance— a main character with some soul-deep struggles that make her feel more real, a really heart-warming love story (that sizzled and worked for me even though I’m not a love at first sight believer), some freaking insane action, lots of figuring things out, and cops doing cop things.
From the first page, Tara Rushing was a compelling character. Kick-ass but with some deep-running struggles that made my heart pinch. I could feel her agony and loneliness and her struggle to just make sense of life and people and her work and what it all meant. Some parts it was really hard to see her go at it alone because you grow to really like her. And then along comes Liam, this macho man who was oddly quite endearing. He’s rough around the edges but the attention he pays Tara, the way he gives her room but possessively protects her at the same time, made him such a great character. She kept pushing him away and he just kept sticking around without stepping over boundaries. There was this scene where Tara was telling Liam she didn’t need him, and Liam said I KNOW THAT, but I want you to WANT me, not need me. He’s that kind of guy for her, and I liked that very much. I kind of feel like Liam pulled Tara off a precipice, because she was standing dangerously close to a mental breakdown.
(And spoiler alert: They do refer to Tara as Liam’s wife in a future Wolfe Security book, which makes me very pleased. I sure do love these two!)
On to the case. It’s a typical violent case, the likes of which you’d see on TV cop shows. And if I were in Tara’s shoes my hair would’ve turned white with stress. You constantly feel that she’s going against the clock as bodies drop around her. The dread and the insistent need to solve the case was always there. (I liked having some peeps from the Delphi Lab around too, including Liam’s profiler brother.) And then when they finally figured things out and go for the baddie, dude, I was so tense during the confrontation!
This is certainly the best I’ve read from Laura Griffin by leaps and bounds so far. Well done!!!
Another great story from Laura Griffin, she's already on my auto-buy list and will continue to be after this title. If you've enjoyed any of her books in the past this one will not disappoint. If you're a fan of romantic suspense you'll have found a new author to love!
My first Laura Griffin book and it was great. I enjoyed it and look forward to the #10.
I'm a fan of suspense/thriller/mystery books, but this is first with romance mixed in.
Laura Griffin phoned this in. Not nearly as good as her other books. This read more like a Harlequin Romance, and less like a romantic thriller. Might give this author one more chance, but if this is her new normal, I will be done.
