Full disclosure: I know next to nothing about poetry, this is the first collection I've ever read. As such, I can't really say whether or not this collection is "good". So I based my rating on how much I enjoyment I got out of reading Drawn to Marvel. Overall I enjoyed reading this collection of poetry more than I thought I would when I picked it up. I do want to point out that a more appropriate subtitle for this collection would be "poems inspired by comics" instead of "poems from the comic books."

Although I really did enjoy this poetry collection, there were a couple things I didn't like about it. The Introduction says these poems were collected over 10 years. I just wish each of them were dated. It would have added needed context in some cases. Also, some of these poems are done in the style or in homage to other writer's poems. Most of the poems that inspired these superhero poems can't just be read (over even found) with a Google search. As a result if the reader isn't familiar with the original work, something is lost when reading the new poem.

If you like comic book characters and poetry, definitely check this book out
