2 stars to be diplomatic, but I really didn't like this.

The premise starts off interesting: clear message about how wasting your life as a work "zombie" means that you'll have nothing to show for it at the end of your life. The world erupts into a zombie apocalypse and the MC is relieved because it means he doesn't have to go to work.

This is a type of humor that doesn't appeal to me. Similar to Chainsaw Man, the boobs just ruined it for me.
SpoilerIt felt cheap, a woman who the MC only thought of as attractive, who he knew for 3 years, is turned and all he thinks about is that he finally saw her boobs.
We're introduced to a female character in this book and she's drawn with lots of emphasis on her tits and ass. So, this was 100% everything I hate in manga. The only thing it didn't do was have her also be underage so... points for that I guess.

Like Fire Force, the female rep is just too annoying for me to continue on, but happy others enjoyed it more than me.

Akira finally has a chance to escape his h3llish work life when a zombie apocalypse hits town. The set up for this story is honestly so funny -- Akira was actually ecstatic about the zombies because that meant he didn’t have to work 😂 I also started the anime for this and I’m excited to see what comes next. (Note -- this is on the gruesome, gorey side!!)

Weird, wonderful, and definitely not for kids.

The zombie story keeps getting recycled (resurrected?) ad infinitum. But Zom 100 manages to keep things a bit fresher than average with a lighthearted (mostly, sometimes incredibly dark and/or depressing) narrative, and beautiful visuals.

Whew this was so good. I love the MC
Definitely a fun take on the zombie apocalypse.

This was a goofy mess.

I liked it.

While this had some good humor and action sequences, the way it depicted women was very objectifying. There seems to be one woman that will be a main character in the series that is a bit of a badass, but she is still objectifying. This was incredibly boyish in its fantasies and comments as well as some of the humor. There was good commentary on toxic and exploitative workplaces, which was often used as a point of humor. The concept of someone free from a toxic workplace and choosing to embrace simple joys of life even in the circumstance of a zombie apocalypse is interesting, but I will not be continuing with the series due to its depiction of women (plus, too many boobs, just to give you an idea as to how they view women). The parallel of the two lists (Akira's carefree one and Shizuka's logical one) was also interesting, though.

Hm. It's ok. I don't particularly like how women are depicted. Writing is meh, feels a bit cliche. Might give Vol. 2 another try to see if I really want to continue reading or not.

I knew nothing about this going in, I just liked the cover. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and found it hilarious.
