A very fun sweet read. I do wish there was a bit more time put into building the main relationship and exploring it in a deeper way, but I also don’t think that was the point of this book. I think it’s more about the very relatable journey of Howie’s self-doubt and self-disappointment and then self-discovery along with what it means to build real connections with people.
I can’t say the writing style is anything especially groundbreaking. If you were in the height of the Tumblr fanfiction life, it'll feel very familiar. But it’s funny and sweet and heartfelt but also heartbreaking at some points and very genuine.
