wonderfully inspiring story, easy read :) and must read

This was very well written. I liked how the narrative style was distant. It really helped me to get through the hard parts of the story. I was a little disappointed because I felt like I was being sold a charity at the end, but that could have been just me. Overall, this is a well-written narrative, and I liked how the characters were brought together at the end. I also admired the strength of character. I don't think I coudl be that strong if I had to...

Short, but inspiring! Such a cool story - and I love the alternating perspectives.

A very quick but important read. I definitely was left wanting to learn more. I enjoyed the intertwining of the two characters’ storylines.

I loved that this was based on a true story. Such a quick read but very eye opening.

Given to me by my 5th grade son, who read it for school -- I read it in about an hour because I simply couldn't stop. A very easy read, but a powerful (true) story.

I didn't realize this was a juvenile novel, nor did I realize it was about one of the Lost Boys of Sudan, until I started reading it. Since I've already read about and seen a film about this issue, I was a little disappointed to be reading it again. However, Park's writing is very strong and the story is compelling.

I know I have been kind of liberal with my 4 and 5 star ratings but I do really think this one deserves all 5. It broke down very real, hard experiences in a way that young readers could grasp. I felt inspired to do something by the end of the story. Did you?
