I wasn't a fan of the start and I didn't quite understand the double POV, but by half of the book I was hooked and it was such a great read. With a heart crushing ending, be warned.
I loved Marin and her constant anxiety, the need to be in control and sacrifice everything for others, and Lucas.. oh boy, the perfect man. To be fair I loved all the characters and how they interacted with each other, I almost felt part of the Saba community myself.
I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did

What the sister did was supposed to be all inspiring and opening minds but she was just selfish to trick her sister and hide the cancer from her until it was too late that it ruined it for me
Almost DNF due to annoyance at the plot but it had enough interesting side characters to keep me going

About 20% into the book you start getting a feel for where the story is headed and by then it has a chokehold on you. I couldn't put this one down. It hurt. My God did this book hurt but it made me reflect while it put my heart back together.
