This book really reflected on each person it focused on, but it was hard to keep up with her writing style at times. It’s written as a constant stream of consciousness, where it’s hard to always tell when it switches from one character’s point of view to another.
I did enjoy the commentary on the isolation you can feel when surrounded by people, and how love is such a complex thing that doesn’t really make sense. I feel like I did miss some important points in it though, purely because it was so slow and it meandered from one point to another so quickly I sometimes had to go back on myself.
It was interesting and cleverly done, but so slow. Also there was classism, sexism, etc. but apparently that’s quite common in Virginia Woolf’s work.
