While most people I've spoken about this book, love it, I couldn't get into it. Half the time I felt too bored with the tale to keep going and wondered when something truly of note would happen. When I spoke to my literature teacher about it, she explained to me that there are no peaks in the story as the whole this goes back and forth between the character's present dat and her flashbacks.

I couldn't find it in me to care about many of the characters which made it harder to read for me. I'm assuming that my dislike for this book has more to do with my tastes in storytelling than the capability of the storyteller as I've heard so many good things about Virginia Woolf's writing.

If you enjoy her writing style or don't mind the idea of reading a story without many peaks or climaxes, yet peaceful. This book could be for you. Sadly it wasn't so for me.
