I'M SO MAD AT MYSELF FOR PUTTING THIS OFF FOR SO LONG.
This has been on my tbr for like 3 months, I was not in the mood to read something heavy, but I am so happy I finally got around to reading it. This is not s spoiler, but the FMC Davina lost her husband 8 months prior to them meeting. for the first time since he passed, she started to feel things for another man since meeting Deke Bishop who is a professional basketball player. They met while doing a collaboration for her skincare products. It was love at first sight for Deke and he was instantly drawn to her and wanted to know more about her.
I'm not going to lie; I almost got to tear up a few times especially when the FMC talked about losing her husband. I loved the journey of them 2 falling in love, it took time, patience, delicacy. Also, I know it was romance, but I didn't expect that spice level, but it was so good.
This story shows that grief doesn't have a timeline, and different people deal with grief in different ways.

OMG my heart is full. This book was so cute, I immersive read it and the audio was perfectly paired with it. The story really captured the grief, longing, and hopelessness you can feel when you lose a love one. However, it also painted a perfect picture of finding love when you have the right person being patient with you and loving you correctly.

3.75-4 ⭐️This book contained a lot of grief. It definitely tugged at a few heart strings expecially listening to the audiobook. Deke was such a sweetheart! Even with him having those hardships he was still patient and had such a good heart for Davina.

This was beautifully written from the multilayered FMC/MMC to the writing style. I went through a plethora of emotions; sad, happy, bashful, emotional, stressed…
I did an immersive read & the 2 voice actors did a phenomenal job. I was blushing listening to the many spicy scenes between the FMC/MMC.
It felt authentic and was effortlessly captivating.
I am not a sports romance reader. But, I would recommend this to my romance lovers who enjoy sports tropes but also those who don’t.
It is worth the read.
