Reid (3 yrs) enjoyed it. Listened to it on 1.25 speed because the authors cadence was a bit slow. I thought the actual stories could be more developed. There is so much one could do with the premise.

one thing about me is i LOVE the magic treehouse books. they affected me on a spiritual level in my youth. my qualms are that they are sometimes too vague to be informative and one must be mindful to avoid certain books if one does not want to encounter academic cultural appropriation. please see me for a work-in-progress zine of my ratings of every single magic treehouse book.

I listened to this audiobook with my 10 year old daughter and my 6 year old grandson. All three of us absolutely loved it. There was enough story to keep my 10 year old interested, but my 6 year old was fully involved, asking questions, guessing what was going to happen before it did. The author read the stories and does it very well. Each story last about 50 minutes and is divided into 10 chapters. The entire audiobook has 8 of those books in it. I highly recommend it for both boys and girls in the 5 to 12 year old age group. The stories involve problem solving mysteries which stretch over several adventures in the books.

We listened to these books on the way to preschool and back. My five-year-old protested with the first book, insisting that he's not really into dinosaurs, but when I read him the titles of the other books, he was willing to suffer through the first book to get to knights, mummies, and pirates. These books are perfect for his age, because they're predictable and repetitive, but exciting at the same time. We also found the Magic Tree House website, and Jaren has had fun designing his own Magic Tree House, with piles and piles of books and medallions everywhere. We've already requested the next set of eight books at the library!
