I always knew Cinderella was trifling and that's why i never liked her. I'm glad this book verified that for me. But for real, I really liked the FMC in this. She was very relatable, and i enjoyed her trials to fulfill the fairy godmother's wishes. The romance was mid but that's to be expected taking into account the ending. Overall and entertaining take on the classic fairy tale.

This book was fun and spirited. You don't love theo right away. You aren't really supposed to but you get invested in her growth. She becomes more than the 2D wicked stepsister.
I have to say a couple things I did not see coming and I was pleasantly surprised by that. It's been awhile since I've been truly surprised by a book.
This was a fantastic retelling(ish) and a great expansion on characters that we think we know. Can't wait until the second book comes out.

Honestly not sure how I feel about this one. Theo is a deeply unlikeable person who felt like an unreliable narrator for much of the book, but I guess that Cinderella really was that bad.
Yup, this is a book about Cinderella's stepsister making a fairy bargain to get out of an unwanted betrothal to a man old enough to be her grandfather. Princess Beatrice lied and told everyone that her stepmother and stepsisters were terrible, so now all the money has dried up and Theo doesn't have a dowry. But she has her wits and a sharp tongue. So she figures out how to call a fairy to get out of the wedding, and all she has to do is complete three unselfish tasks, to be determined by the fairy. Theo is hard and mean but I guess she has some character growth to at least quit bullying children by the end.
