This book was different than most RH books I’ve read and I’m so okay with that. Zara is a great strong MC and we get to see that from the start. I can’t wait for more books in this series because I need to see more more more!

Well wasn’t that a TRIP! It was a Paranormal, fantasy, Sci-fi wonderland!

Do you remember the show Gargoyles, it was on Disney when I was a child! I loved the idea of the stone protectors coming to life to watch their city every night. I was obsessed with the show, I even recently rewatched it! This was the adult book for a children’s show, but better!!!!

The mystery aspect was fun, for a moment or two you weren’t sure who was bad and who was good. I like a good confusing mystery, I want to be a little shocked, and not just by Gio’s geode. I loved the idea of Sawyer and Zara, I liked that they flashed back to their beginning. I got to see Gio and Damien grow with Zara, it was nice to see Sawyer in flashbacks.

Zara was an interesting woman, and to understand her better you need to read her. I wasn’t sure of her at the beginning, but as she grew into herself I grew to understand her way of thinking. I appreciate that. I don’t want to always love a character, sometimes I want to work at peeling back layer for layer!

This is my first Gargoyle book, shocking I know, but definitely not my last. Absolutely not my last Cate book!

Happy reading!!
