Made me say wow from page 1 to 485. Don't think I breathed the whole way through. Breathtaking!

Page turner is such an over used description that it's off putting. I have to say that on this occasion it's merited.
As one who is wary when books have short chapters I was delighted to see that these chapters avoided the classic over repeating of plot.
Yes it is not a flawless boom and you can guess a few things but that's he fun. Either you are proven correct or you are surprised.

A win win situation.

Absolutely brutal, but a very well crafted crime novel. I'm happy Lucien will not be featuring in any other books.

I really enjoy the Robert Hunter series by Chris Carter, and this is no exception. For a sequel from the middle of the series, this was executed really well. As usual, his writing took me in straight away- it's like riding a bike - and I fell into this genre easily and happily. This book is a fabulous read that I couldn't put down and one of the best of the series in terms of suspense. Thank you Chris, for another's great read. Can't wait for the next!
