This is so twisted. I literally finished the book with my mouth hanging open. Definitely a top read of the year for me.

Yes yes yes. I've never had so much anxiety reading a book before and for some reason I'm happy about it.
Props to Modglin because, half way through the book, I was sure I knew where this plot was going. And I was wrong.
The majority of my anxiety probably stemmed from the fact that the heroine of this novel was such a pushover and I felt myself internally screaming at her after every decision.
God I love Modglin so much.

A quick, suspenseful read; creepy at times; the pace and length were perfect; very far-fetched and unbelievable, yet I still ate it up; what in the convoluted tarnations was that twist?! reminded me of a Frieda McFadden book (in a good way); the husband ALWAYS questioning the wife and the wife herself were pretty annoying though.
Marriage made in heaven or hell
This made me bald I have the in-laws I have in my life. I don't believe I would managed not to be the killer in this story. Great easy read. Just enough suspense to keep you interested.

I gave this book a 4 because it was easy to read and the right length- not a lot of unnecessary details.
That being said, there were some moments where it was confusing to figure out who was speaking, but not enough to stop and turn back- some predictability but the author did a great job of waiting till the end to revel some things you may have thought about, it also didn't end the way you assume from the book jacket-so a twist!
I don't quite understand how you get the name RynLee from Laurel and Loren but that's really not important. This book did echo Hill House slightly in that a house can contain secrets, and i enjoyed that essence of the book. Houses do hold memories, ones that you remember and cherish and ones you might not remember or ones you don't want to. Like a dog, it witnesses' all of your life.
I do think books and tv are places where we can easily flip the script so let's stop with women always being gaslighted and questioning themselves. This is my only criticism of the story.
