Most of this story was pretty predictable; as soon as they discovered Coralee was giving her husband his medicine I knew she’d killed him, as soon as Meredith went missing I knew she’d killed her. Another psychotic killer with no background to explain their evil. Another bleak ending with not enough hope in sight, like this author’s other books.

predictable ending. frustrating characters

Was pretty disappointed in this. No character development. The bum baby daddy just stops getting mentioned at one point. And the ending actually confused the hell out of me. Dont care enough to try and figure it out either.

Another awesome read by Kiersten Modglin!!!

There were 2 twists that I didn't see coming and 1 that I guessed on a whim.

I will say Coralee is worst than my ex-husband's mom and that woman is something else.

A chance encounter, a mishap, leads Loren to Jack and the love she has always dreamed of. Jack is the perfect man except he is quite the momma's boy, who takes a phone call from his mom whenever she calls him, even on his wedding night. I felt so frustrated for poor Loren. I could just see this trouble coming. Or so I thought. Believe me, I never saw what was really coming! This book was a well developed psychological thriller with twist and turns I didn't expect and with characters who were for the most part well developed and likable. There were a few things that seemed a little unrealistic to me at first, but looking back, they made sense. I want to thank the author who gave me a copy of this book to review. I will definitely be reading more of her books.

The attraction is seeing how horrid a situation our Woman in Peril has waded into and how she’ll get herself out of it. The tropes are fun and Modglin has no interest in characterization but excels at revealing unexpected motivations.

Stupid, annoying & predictable. Not sure why I finished it 😭
