Very slow moving, lots of ice climbing jargon (clunky to follow even with the footnotes), and not captivating.

I was a little confused by who was who because he kept jumping back and forth between first names and last names and there were so many people! But like usual I’m very enthralled with Jon Krakaur. He’s easily my favorite non-fiction writer

Beyond acknowledging the tragedy of this book, I am not sure what else to say. I am left with so many thoughts and reactions and further reading/watching on Everest to embark on. Recommend the PBS Nova episode on Everest and altitude sickness as a follow up.
