It started off interesting but then it just became a loop of “why don’t you think?” And “because I cannot” for a while.

Cozy sci-fi journey of self discovery from an emotionless service robot

- Writing style: parable with social commentary, philosophical themes and dry comedy
- Interesting representation of artificial intelligence - software felt accurate and plausible
- Excellent narration by the author
- Great example of show don’t tell

it's getting harder and harder to avoid coming to the conclusion that adrian tchaikovsky isn't for me. if I used half stars, this would be half a step up from alien clay, but still had pacing problems and inconsistent messaging and a lot of heavy handed storytelling. i'll give him one more try with children of time.
