Tchaikovsky finally hit it out of the park for me with this one- Service Model is a dystopian romp full of dark humor with nods to many beloved classics. I love a robot protagonist, and un-Charles the valet with no master is a breath of fresh air.
Tchaikovsky is, I admit, generally too smart of an author for me. I know I picked up on less than half of his easter eggs. There was a section for Dante, and one for Orwell, and I'm sure many many others. But in spite of my lack of classical knowledge, the story itself is enjoyable (if one can call travel through an Earth mostly depopulated due to idiocrasy humorous). Service Model is smart, funny, and just the tiniest bit hopeful.

4.5 ⭐️
Essentially a modern Hitchhiker’s Guide but with the all too realistic near future of when robots completely replace humankind. Thought provoking, funny, and satirical without being too heavy. And we all know I love a sassy robot.

Philosophical, sad, funny, and a touch of horror. I really enjoyed this story and the epilogue pushed it to five stars for me.

Solidly written hard scifi about the impending robocalypse. Some new ideas, some old ideas, all explored in interesting ways. I liked it. I tend to like Tchaikovsky though, so you know, ymmv.
Dragged a bit in the second act.
