A short and cute story for a cosy time.
I found the style very appealing and beautiful, even though sometimes it felt like a bit too much. It was also quite interesting the importance of the religion in the book, something that I was not really expecting at all, and it almost felt that the author was trying to sell it to the reader.
In general it was alright, very cosy and beautiful.

Read as a child and read again as an adult. It is still as beautiful as I remember. A gorgeous classic that I recommend to any adult or child.

Pros:
This is a very simple & cute children's literature! Heidi is so adorable I wanna snatch her up and let her live with me!! Also the setting is so beautiful!! Reading this made me want to live among the mountains & now I feel nostalgic of a life I've never lived!!
Cons:
Since its so simple, it seems like nothing ever happens & that made me skim a few pages towards the end!
Also just have to say this edition is SO GORGEOUS!

I quite enjoyed the first half of the story but there were way too many religious preachings afterwards for my taste, but I guess I should have expected that.

First book I ever remember reading which made me fall in love with reading. I can't believe that after 30 years I have picked it up again and can still remember the story. I love how the story is about an orphan 5 year old girl who goes and lives with her grandfather and brings a lot of joy into everyone's life that she meets. An amazing story.
Felt like a mash-up of Little Woman, A Little Princess, and the Secret Garden all taking place in the Swiss Alps!
Still an enjoyable read, and I can see why it is such a beloved children's novel.

I think I might like this book more than anne of green gables! I loved heidi so much.
It was rather kind of like a not really fun storyline, but I mean, it was a good book though. I don't know if I would recommend or not, but it was kind of dull...
