The first and best word that comes to mind to describe this book is "unique." I hated the narrator a lot but as per usual Kirby Heyborne is on his way to save our souls (he narrates the next two books, that's what I'm saying). I liked it. I didn't love it, but I liked it. I'm excited to see what's next for these characters and, thank god, to hear them narrated by a much, MUCH better narrator. Onward.

Four and a half stars. this being a kid's book, I wanted to read it in a show-it-to-my-future-kids-if-it's-good kind of way, more as an observer than a reader, but I ended up getting so totally sucked in to it. Really easy to read, strong and interesting voice. Definitely seems like the author has talent when it comes to drama, because it's once he was on the island that I was really hooked. Excited to read the rest of them.

3.5/5 stars 353 pages i enjoyed this! but i also ended up kind of bored because it was such a simple story. some YA still hits for me and others like this one i just wish id picked up when i was still a kid. i don’t think ill be finishing the series because i simply am not invested enough but i did think the book and the concept and the photographs were all really cool

It was fine - didn't enthral me or anything. The photographs were a nice addition though. Also Jacob getting with Emma? Super weird considering she legit dated his grandad.
