Loved!! It alternates between Evelyn Hugo and the reporter telling her story. I found the reporter a bit boring and cliche next to the captivating and complex Evelyn Hugo but fortunately the reporter bits were short.
A very quick read that I had a hard time putting down. Also have you ever read about a beautiful, powerful, intelligent older woman?? A happily queer older woman?? Not me!! We love to see it

It was a thrill to read and experience all 7 husbands. The ending was crazy.

"I’m under absolutely no obligation to make sense to you."
booktok is gonna roast my ass so hard of they ever see this review.
oh, evelyn evelyn. . . after months i finally got to your story. turns out you are not as bejeweld as other call you, now isn't this a funny turn?
yes, ladies and gentelmen, THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO IS A BIG HYPE BIG LIE AND YOU HEARD THAT FROM ME, THE BIGGEST LITERATURE GENIUS OF THE 21st CENTURY (i am only fifteen years old but that doesn't matter).
THE ONLY CHARACTER I EVER CARED ABOUT IN THIS NOVEL WAS HARRY CAMERON AND HE DID NOT DESERVE THAT ENDING. YES TAYLOR I'M LOOKING AT YOU, YOU BETTER WRITE A SEQUEL AND GIVE HIM THE JUSTICE HE DESERVES.
okay, i gotta calm down before i break even more walls.
evelyn, evelyn. . . you are something else. i don't know if in a good or a bad way, but i do highly enjoy anti-heroes and you were an entertaining character to analyze through my reading journey. i'm glad i had the chance to meet you, yet i'm afraid you were nothing spectacular.
oh, celia. i really couldn't care less about her. this woman is straight biphobic and she ate the last crumb of my nerves with no shame. i am actually glad she died?? kind of, yet not entirely sure.
in the end, it was enjoyable. . .? yet nothing spectacular. my worst regret is that i really had high hopes for it (thank you booktok for nothing).
and how i wish half-stars would be an actual thing! they would save me from SO MANY three stars ratings. ( edit: i re-rated it 2 stars because i'm such a beach.)
maybe i'll read tjr's other – at least i'm sure i'll read daisy jones really soon cuz i want to see the series when it comes out – but evelyn was a huge disappointment.
