I loved the first two books, but I think this one fell a little short for me. I think it could be the fact that Pip became a person I wasn't sure I liked anymore. Her decisions were so insane and just so unlike Pip. The story was good, the case was good, but there was something about the change in Pip that I couldn't seem to like. I understand her story and why it took the turn that it did, but that doesn't mean I had to like it. This book was way darker than the others had been as well which I actually did like.
I still enjoy Ravi, Cara, Connor, Josh, Nat, Jamie and all the rest of the characters that surround Pip, but I don't think it was enough to save this book from dropping almost a whole star grade for me.
Also, I am a person who actually really enjoys an open ending, but I actually didn't like this one. It makes sense, but yet again that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Crying score: nope.
I don't know if this counts as a spoiler or not so I'll just mark it as such. Pip should have died in this books. She should have been murdered by the DT Killer and then Part II should have been Ravi and her friends/family investigating her murder, but I guess that's just me.

Overall i did enjoy the book but i found the plot and the ending were kinda off at a few times and i dont know if i liked the way Pip changed so much in a very dark direction. I loved her so much but now im a bit indifferent about it. She is definitly very traumatised and she deserved better.

I found it was quite predictable that Jason Bell was the DT killer. In the books before i already had some unlikings about who it was it just didnt 100% work for me but i was atleast surprised. I found this one a bit predictable. I did like the different direction this book took afterwards but i really did not like the ending and didnt really understsnd why it was so necessary to vover everything up and then her cutting herself completly off.

Okay, just to be clear, this book saved the trilogy.
The first one was so good but the second one was such a let down. But this one... omg

(there will be spoilers from here)
one thing i really liked about the second one was the trial and how pip and nat coped with it, i was so angry at it and i couldn't believe that was it but holly saved it greatly!
i feel like this book is more close to pip, her narration makes you see she is not fine, she has lost it (for great reasons) she couldn't really see what it was in front of her. I take that as a why she didn't even think about Jason, because he was envolved in every murder and she didn't even out him in the persons of interest???
from the second part of the book... it becomes even better. i thought it will maybe end with pip killing jason and thats it but this was so much better. seeing how pip (at a bad place, with so much trauma in her and even an addiction) was put into edges and she get away with it!!! how every friend of her not only supported her but understand her, her rage and why she did what she did. But my favourite part was, as a reader (being, i guess, omnipresent) you were always three steps behind pip. You couldn't now her next move, how she gonna get away with it and the best part: how Max would go down.
When i read that part... GIRLIE DEVORED. I was so angry at that piece of shit and how realistic it was he get away with it but not anymore and honestly she was so right AND SO ICONIC when she said 'you're lucky I didn't put you in the ground too' such a girl boss we love!!
And for the end, i loved every line of the bond of pip with her friends and family but overall ravi, he was willing to burn the world for her, to kill for her and she already did for him!! Loves them, loved they can end together, loved his jokes, him literally carrying a corpse for her (boyfriend goals) my ravi and pip, my team, love them forever!! <3

Also, want to say Cara character and she just joking around about his dad, is such a gen z thing and something i would do too, love her she is my girl <3

pdt: fuck you jason bell and max hastings you got what you deserved

As Good As Dead felt a lot darker and more intense than the previous books.

I don’t think it’s my favorite out of the trilogy, but I thought the ending was a decent conclusion.

The text message at the end…. Ahhhhhh. I think it was a clever way to end the book

While Pip isn’t as naive as she was two books ago, there is still just a lot in this novel that represents a more juvenile perspective on life and that makes the story unrealistic. I love the romance and family elements that were included in this latest installment. I’m surprised, in a way, about Pip’s actions and her acceptance of them but lean towards believe that she did what was best.
