Compelling! I stayed up WAY too late reading this book. "Just one more page," until 3 AM. That's how good it was.

4.5/5🌶️, Libby ebook, contemporary, mental health rep, teach me about sex, workplace, age gap, all sorts of kinks (very light BDSM aspects), very kink and sex positive, FMC: sex therapist who is raising her younger brother after dealing with a traumatic upbringing, but she has no sexual experience, MMC: also a sex therapist, mentor and coworker to FMC, all about sex but not into relationships

Roni Loren does it again. I should really just borrow her entire repertoire at this point because every book I’ve read by her has been a winner. She always manages to hit the perfect mix of spice and the emotional with a dose of mental health or disability rep. This book was right up at the top of my favourite Roni books. It may have just pulled me out of a slump!! (My rating probably inflates this book because I always rate slump-ending books slightly higher). I love a professional couple - both MCs are PhDs. I also love when they call each other “Dr” in jest. The sex scenes in this book were great and varied - a little light bondage, light primal play, dirty talking, very enthusiastic oral, masturbation in front of the other MC used as a tease, and more. There was a 80% breakup, but I feel like it was handled pretty well, and I appreciate when the FMC fights back and the breakup is short and/or to make sure one MC is in a better mental state to take on a committed relationship and/or to make sure they are the best version of themselves. There was also a pretty good depiction of depression and how it can alter how you view yourself and the people around you. Overall, highly enjoyable.

There's no way this woman doesn't have a raging yeast infection

not gonna lie… this was actually kind of a phenomenal romance. I’ve gotten so used to weak, annoying main female characters and stupid “alpha” male love interests that i fully started reading this expecting another 2 star story that is really only written for the (what is usually mediocre) smut. and this book, to my surprise, was not that! in fact, i actually really enjoyed the plot even away from the romance really interesting. + the smut scenes were really well done—confident, hot, and unwaveringly consensual (which you would think would be a no brainer nowadays.) definitely would recommend to people tired of the seemingly endless stream of poorly written romances.
