Holly White has returned home to Mistletoe, Maine after her fiance ended their relationship to be with his Pilates instructor. Holly's family runs a Christmas Tree Farm in Mistletoe and every year they put on the 12 days of reindeer games. They have bingo, snowball rolling, find the pickle in the tree, gingerbread house decorating and many other games. Holly is helping out around the farm when the head of the historic society, Margaret Fennwick comes in and starts demanding that everyone make changes in order to comply with the towns history. Everyone she talks to is angry with her, so when she ends up dead on one of Holly's family sleighs, Holly starts asking questions. Someone doesn't appreciate her questions and starts leaving her threatening messages. Holly teams up with Sheriff Evan Gray to get to the bottom of who killed old Ms. Fennwick. There is a great cast of characters and I really enjoyed reading this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ don’t let the clever title fool you - this is not a thrilling murder mystery. Rather, it’s a Hallmark style rom-com - where one woman that everybody hates anyway is murdered (but not slayed, nor joined by another 11 victims, as the title might make you think). The town goes about its Xmas with gingerbread contests, snowman building, caroling, etc. There’s some romance, the murder gets solved, and they all live happily ever after.
"Twelve Slays of Christmas" is a fun, clean, Christmasy cozy mystery.
When a murder happens on her family's Christmas tree farm, Holly sticks her nose into the investigation in hopes of clearing the farm's name.
This was a cute holiday read that was the perfect combination of cozy mystery, Christmas cheer and Hallmark-esque romance.
