I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I enjoyed it but at the same time it felt so slow sometimes and the main big things are so predictable, it doesn't even feel like a big surprise when they are revealed.

I am really enjoying this series but I will say the following things:

This book is definitely inspired by acotar book 2
This is a series and the running plot has been dragged out against its will 🤣 I don’t know if the authors think we’re stupid, wanted to get more books and money out etc…but we’re all very aware of who the mate bonds are and I feel like screaming everytime it’s suggested that it’s nother cause it happens too many times for it not to be annoying 😅
I also think that Cas wasmade obviously not evil but pretending to be from the beginning. We all knew it was him who carried her back to the castle. We also all can see that it’s obvious how her mother is the queen of everything. Anyone who doesn’t see that coming I’d be shocked. I just think each of these books could have been much shorter and it would have made them better tbh

The story was engaging and did not lag at all, it was so hard to put down. This book had its own story that it followed, with a battle scene at the end, there are still a few unanswered questions and it did leave on a cliffhanger which I’m interested to see how this unfolds.

Characters:
It was wonderful to see Rosalie grow into a stronger character, beautiful and kind Farron has my heart, I’m still rooting to see the Prince of Thorns redemption story, we saw glimpse of a softer side in this story. I love all the princes and looking forward to the next book.

Very fun sequel, a lot of action and relationship/romance development, spice as well. However I kept cringing whenever they would suddenly talk in a crazy poetic and formal way? I dont mind flowery language at all but the switching between gen z type dialogue to this stiff poetry was making me cringe so bad. 😭💀 farron and rosalina are getting up to spicyyyy things to seal their mate bond and he talks abt his love for her etc and the chapter ends w "and he sheathed himself inside her" or smth like that I WAS SCREAMING LMAO couldnt that sentence have been moved to the next chapter... Omg but I'm loving Caspian! Such an intriguing character and his dynamic w the others is hilarious.
