I am really enjoying this series. I love how Alex is evolving with her magic and her fae side and how she meets the challenge of her deteriorating vision because of the grave vision.
I can't wait until everything is resolved between Alex and Death and am glad that she's set boundaries with Fallon so that it's not a love triangle.

Omg. ..I waited for very for this book to be released. ..and it wad worth thr wait
It has been a number of years since I had read the prior book in this series, so maybe that is coloring my take on this one somewhat, but I remember the other books just being better than this one. Alex did not come across at all as a strong, kick-ass heroine, which I what I typically read and enjoy in my UF books. In this installment she just seemed weak, indecisive, and not that smart for someone who is a PI. And I’m so over this boring and dumb love-triangle with Falin and Death - who she now calls her boyfriend but doesn’t even know his actual name. I did like the introduction of the Shadow Court, as I think there will be more to explore there in the future, but someone clearly needs to help teach Alex to use her planeweaving abilities - otherwise she’ll just keep stumbling and bumbling her way to kinda saving the day, which I find frustrating. If you are supposed to be this singular and special individual that the various Courts are fighting over, then both the heroine and the book needs to show better why that is. I also think more scenes with her father would help, as that dynamic is interesting, especially considering his role in the human world and the fact that he’s been Fae in hiding all these years. Just an ok installment.
I don’t think any paranormal love triangle has had me undecided this much this far into a series.
Worth the wait!
I absolutely loved the book...now I'm back to waiting for the next one. This book delves a little more into faerie and Alex Craft's mysterious fae father and I'm liking the direction of her relationship with Falin. Though thinking the nightmare court and Alex's new found betrothed are going to play a larger role soon... Don't want to give too much away.

I'm a little tired of the love triangle theme in these books, but what can you do.
If you like these books, you will probably like Seanan McGuire's October Daye series. Extremely similar world and main character.

It's been a long time since I read an urban fantasy series. After 15 books into some series it all starts to feel the same, it all seems pointless and boring, but I got this one because I remember good things about the series. Something about these characters doesn't make me roll my eyes the way almost all other urban fantasy series tend to. Yes the main character is super powerful, yes there are multiple men involved and multiple powerful beings, sure there are special friends and generic characters there, but it all just...works. I care about this character, I care about the mystery each book presents, and I find the magic enjoyable. I like that our main character doesn't know everything, and I do want to see what happens in this world. I'm in!
This one might be my favourite in the series. A Magic drug where you can accidentally hallucinate things into reality sounds absolutely brilliant! Mixed in with the normal Alex Craft issues and I really can't complain!
Excellent but I want more
My only complaint is that there's are still way too many questions and the next book will take forever to be released. Alex pushed herself way to hard in this one but it was worth it. A slightly abrupt ending.
