Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing is set in a town in Italy after a war was won with little to no casualties. The characters coming from the war include Don Pedro the Prince, Don John his brother, Claudio, and Benedick. To celebrate, they throw a party where the Prince plans to make people fall in love. This play was quite enjoyable despite being from Shakespeare and difficult to understand occasionally. Especially when watching the movie, the humor was clear and funny.
SpoilerMy favorite scene was when the characters tricked Benedick into loving Beatrice because it was clearly exaggerated, enriching the humor.
Another thing I now appreciate in Shakespeare's plays is the lack of stage directions. This gives more freedom to each interpretation, guaranteeing a different experience whenever you view a different one. This play is for anyone seeking humor and is willing to and capable of deciphering Shakespeare's language.

i think this may be my all time favorite Shakespeare text... it's definitely at least my favorite comedy. reread this for the first time in nearly four years and was just absolutely blown away. work of brilliance, utilizing manipulation of the audience and characters in the most strategic and well plotted way. this text truly is the blueprint for a lot of our contemporary themes and tropes and it's super awesome to reread the older i get. lots of love for this one.
