This play really is much ado about nothing because if everyone involved (especially my fainting girl Hero) took a deep breath and/or stopped slut-shaming poor Hero, there would have been significantly less drama.
Also, why is it always the Friars who come up with the idea to fake someone‘s death in Shakespeare plays? Why is that their go-to plan?
Regardless of that this play is hilarious and still worth reading 425 years after its writing date.

Not my favorite Shakespeare (tie between Hamlet and King Lear) or even my favorite of his comedies (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). I did enjoy Beatrice and Benedick, though. Their flirtatious verbal sparring is romcom gold.
Rating not final. Proper review after a few more go-arounds.

This was my first Shakespearean comedy and I must say that I really enjoyed it! It is witty & fun. I adore the clever characters of Beatrice & Benedick. Here is one of my favorite sections from Much Ado About Nothing:
Leonato
Count, take of me my daughter, and with her my fortunes: his grace hath made the match, and all grace say Amen to it!
Beatrice
Speak, count, 'tis your cue
Claudio
Silence is the perfectest herald of joy: I were but little happy, if I could say how much. - Lady, as you are mine, I am yours: I give away myself for you, and dote upon the exchange.

My childhood hero - Beatrice! I love the banter. Though I have to say that I might have let this story shape me a little too much and am thus a little sharp tongued. "Get thee to heaven!"
Es mi primera comedia de Shakespeare y me sorprendió, me resultó entretenida y divertida. Aunque creo que el autor brilla mas en la tragedia.
