I love Jodi Picoult's book! So thought provoking! I didn't love the format of this book, but the story was, as usual, timely and captivating!
I really wanted to like this book but I did not like the format at all. For that reason alone, I gave it 3 stars.

I always love her books and this one wasn't a disappointment! I strongly encourage anyone who reads it to read the author's note as well though because it has a lot of great statistics.

Not my favorite Picoult book. I appreciate what the author was trying to do, I think, but I wasn’t a fan of the outcome. In the author’s note at the end, Picoult writes, “Nobody wants to have an abortion… it’s a last resort,” which is such bullshit. I hear this all the time from well-meaning pro-choice people, but it’s dangerous. It continues to stigmatize abortion as if it is something bad or shameful. People can be and are pro-abortion and I am unapologetically one of those people. The book felt like it was written through this lens of abortion is a “last resort” and while some folks may view it that way, it’s obviously way more complex and nuanced.
Aside from that, I found myself getting impatient with the book. Each section of the book goes back in time by one hour and I felt like the ending was predictable and I just wanted to get there already.
I absolutely love many of Picoult’s books, but this one ain’t it.

I can always count on Jodi! This book made me think as all of her books do. I did struggle with the timeline a bit but I didn’t take away from the story. I may try reading it backwards to see if that changes my perspective at all.
