2.5 rounded up. This book has promise and interesting sections, but felt like the plot lines never tied together or finished. The ending felt abrupt and meandering to get to. Some of the writing was beautiful but other sections felt “writerly” and tedious. Interested in giving the author another chance but could see myself DNF’ing the next book.

I'm torn on this one. Better than just good so 3 stars. But a little too disturbing at the finale to warrant it as being really good and 4 stars. Plus I thought the Trace Italian storyline was great but ultimately left unresolved.

I want to like this. I want to love it. For its abstract thought and focused ideas on the possibility of infinite parallels and how the game reflects Sean's actual belief in choices and how every choice has an infinite amount of possible next choices. And it never ends and it's impossible to know what the you that picked left over right now knows.

But, mostly, I'm just confused

I went into this book expecting something completely different. Had I know what it was actually about, I wouldn’t have picked it up
