Another book dealing with mental illness, specifically schizophrenia. I wonder if it predates "A Scanner Darkly".

I liked this book less this time, clearly by my updates. And boy, taking a break from reading cishet white guys sure changes your perspective on a book. Every other time since, when I've tried to read something by Dick, I'd get annoyed and stop. This time, I managed to continue because of the absolutely preposterous position that a woman is completely disinterested in him, therefore, she must be schizophrenic; which is a central conceit of the book. That was literally the only way I could through it and I was still annoyed most of the time.

once again PKD: I like the idea so much more than where you actually took it

I went from well that sounds interesting, to reading it and going that's not how I expected it to be but that's interesting, to huh... kinda lost focus... to starting to write this review 2 days later and going Oh wait... that all tied together rather nicely. Well done.

I don't know what to think about this one. Definitely the most bizarre PKD book I have read so far.

If 'A Beautiful Mind' was a Blade Runner prequel, this would be it.
