Dogsbody is a wonderful conglomeration of genres woven skillfully together in Diana Wynne Jones' no-nonsense style. Though I feel the author's voice left me without the emotional payoff I was expecting going into the book (it is, after all, a story about a "dog," and I have come to expect a certain amount of emotional highs and lows from such), the way the author writes is also so charming and readable that I can't say I dislike the effect.

A quick and unique read, I'd recommend Dogsbody to pretty much anyone.

Sadly, the book couldn't win me over. Maybe I'll give it another shot in the future.
