This had such a wonderful sounding premise, and then was such a disappointment. The story (as little of it as there was) was just all over the place, and none of the characters or story had any weight to them. The art was nice though.

I really wanted to like it more than I did, but it was decent. Alice (from Wonderland), Wendy (from Never-Neverland) and Dorothy (from Oz) wind up at the same boarding school, and wind up visiting each others' lands and having adventures. The ending was better than the beginning, and I sometimes had trouble telling which girl was which.

Maybe I didn't love this because I haven't actually read any of the source material. I know I watched Wizard of Oz the movie on TV every year when it was aired during my childhood, but I don't think I even knew there were books till I was older. Wendy and Alice -- probably only the Disney incarnations. Hm. This could be a failing on my part.

This one fell pretty flat for me. The concept has loads of potential & is very much up my alley, it just didn't follow through very well. On the up's I very much enjoyed angry Alice & sudo Mary Poppins. The art is also quite lovely, but the plot leaves much to be desired. You can see some of Weir's sass coming through occasionally, but it feels tamped down and awkward (I'm assuming it's just poorly adjusted for kids/teens). Would try again if they manage to squeeze a series out of this & it wandered across my desk, but I'm not going to be looking out for a follow up.

This was kind of all over the place, but since it included three of my favorite fantasy worlds... I still somewhat loved it.

Very funny! The library just got this new book today, and I have one of the first copies. It definitely helps (and maybe is critical) to know each of the stories of Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, and Alice in Wonderland but most people probably know all of them well. The story links our three teenage heroines together in an adventure fighting the Wicked Witch of the West and Captain Hook, and elicits the help of the Cheshire Cat and other Wonderland characters. There's lots of laugh-out-loud humor, and the story is really pretty fun as a reader. The final battles at the end were a little confusing, but overall it was quite a romp. The romantic tension between the Wicked Witch and Hook was hilarious, as were the targets of Peter Pan's infatuation. The artwork is colorful, well-drawn and easy to follow. Definitely well worth an hour of your time to get some good laughs.

The concept has mass potential, but the execution was pretty meh.
