A really great mystery better than the last couple of books in the series. When an Internet genius almost gets blown up in front of It's Grind Claire is determined to find out who is responsible. When said wunderkid wants Claire to help on a project both she Matt and Joy gets sucked into it. Interesting information about the state of coffee plantations worldwide made this an interesting read.

I really do just read these for kicks, but when the emerging elite chef suggested making a chicken breast carpaccio and then was selected for a culinary honor my suspension of disbelief was pushed too far. #deathbysalmonella

A really fun murder mystery with lots of twists a turns, filled with delicious talk of food and coffee. Just when you think you've figgured everything out, the author provides more story to get you keep reading. Great story telling and development of plot, characters and settings. Had a fun time reading and learning about where all type of coffees comefrom and better ways to make them. The recipies in the back are great as well and i cant wit to try some of them.

Not my favorite Coffeehouse Mystery. Claire and Mike didn't seem like themselves and all the jet setting was a bit dizzying for me. Still love the series though.

I like this series but I thought all the traveling around got confusing. I like the series better when it happens around the coffee shop.

When a wealthy billionaire starts frequenting the Village Blend and quizzing the baristas on drinks, Claire steps in to hand the guy a slice of humble pie. But then a bomb explodes outside the Blend and Claire gets caught up in the hunt for the bomber.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

This was a very entertaining read.

Coyle has a great crew of regular characters that readers have come to love more with each new story. In this installment she adds Eric Thorner, his sister, his business associates and his rival.

Clare and Matt get caught up in all the drama of Thorn Enterprises and realize that are also putting themselves in great danger. The author has brewed a very tight plot line that really captivated this reader.

The dialogue is smart and full of humor.

I love the way the city of New York is described especially the fancy restaurant Eric took Clare to for dinner. I felt like I was across the room taking in the whole experience. I also enjoyed a surprise destination Eric arranges for Clare too!

Yes, this is the 13th book in the series and I must admit I need to catch up on a couple of the ones I have missed but the author writes these stories in such a way that they can be read as stand alone. So if this is a new series to you or you have missed a book or two don’t fret, you will be engaged in this story very quickly. But then I just know you are going to want to read them all.

Oh and did I mention the recipes!!! They will grab you too!!

When two of the characters look and act like Bishamon and her shady shaman from Noragami, it's obvious who the villains are from their first appearances. Nonetheless, fun listen.

When a new regular at the Village Blend starts quizzing all the barista about strangely named coffee, Claire doesn’t know what to make of him. Then when a bomb goes off destroying the coffeehouse, she really doesn’t know what to make of him. But now she is on the case to see who wants this billionaire killed.

This book seemed so far fetched compared to the others. I had a hard time taking it seriously. Claire was being jetted off by this billionaire she had only had a 10 minute conversations with. Everything was just too far out and kinda hard to follow. I found myself shaking my head a lot.

That being said it did crack me up.

The mystery took lots of crazy turns but I think I kept up pretty well. The characters went back to annoying me.

I give this book a B.
