I’ve never read this author before. I went into it thinking it would be this cute romcom - but it was so much more!
It was about the power of friendships, grief, psychological abuse, moving forward, and letting go.
I’m excited to read more books by her!

Listened to the audiobook and thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s relatively light, despite addressing some serious topics. I couldn’t wait for the next time to listen each time each time I had to push pause. A delightful escape.
The blurb doesn’t do the book justice: this is very much a story of friendship with a subplot about love. Excellent as usual.
THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD!! It’s deep, real, honest, and so, so witty! I laughed so hard even as the characters dealt with some heavy emotional topics.
Some words of caution:
- TW: emotional abuse
- this is not a romance (there is a really cute romance subplot, but primarily it’s not a romance book)
- talks about grief
- closed door but there are some references/allusions

Really great characters and cheesy as can be. The final scenes were rom-com through and through and I was so here for it. I do wish we got more of some of our side characters, and there were also whole sections that made me wonder, “Hmm… is this for the plot or was it just fun for the author to create?” Either way, a great book to scratch the rom-com itch.
Cute and smart twists. I just love a British romance novel!
