Interesting and I learned a lot - really liked her points about how we can comfort ourselves into thinking this is only a problem with a small subset of the population, but it really has infiltrated so many aspects of the Internet. I felt that she relied on too much of her own experience and too little on data.

Important book. Dragged. Lots of repeated information. Good research and policy suggestions, important to spread the word, an additional edit to tighten up would have been helpful.

This is such an important book for people to read to understand what women face in our society, so many times I feel that people think I am being dramatic about how we are treated. Even small micro aggressions are rooted in deep misogynistic thinking, and this book goes in depth about the worst of those communities and where these ideas stem from.

This explores how and why we ignore misogyny online and how these online spaces have become a breeding ground for incels and trolls. It basically comes down to men who are not okay looking for community and getting taken advantage of and recruited into this way of thinking. They want to control something because everything else in their life feels so out of control and because controlling women plays into the idea of what it means to “be a real man”. This book made me so fucking mad.

really well written tracking of the cultures that we are so used to- just started to feel repetitive and redundant to me considering how long the book is. I also found myself desperate for a break from the violence and seeking any kind of hope within the despair of the way these men run the world
This book shifted my perspective in an uncomfortable way. Sometimes, opening our eyes to problems is harder than pretending the problems don't exist.
