This book included a lot of really important information, especially for parents raising kids. Actually, probably for everyone, but I read it through the lens of someone raising female children.

I feel like the writing was not as sharp as I would have liked, and much of it felt repetitive. But it was well researched with plenty of sources provided to back up the information.

This is an excellent book. The book has both meaningful content and is well written. The book overall describes the variety of ways in which some men participate in extremism particularly as it relates to women. The information is laid out clearly with Bates having done immense amounts of research to write this book. Ultimately the book reaches the conclusion that the best way to fight this rising extremism is to talk with and educate our children about these subjects before malicious extremists have the chance. By engaging with our children in meaningful ways and giving them the opportunity to  express themselves and develop we will prepare them for when they come across extremism so they can look at it and see it as the rambling garbage of losers that it really is. While the book is tense and I recommend taking breaks through out, it ends on lighter note with hope that in time if we work at this we can make serious improvements. One of the most important lessons for readers to note is that women cannot be the only ones working on this problem as men themselves are the only ones who can truly solve it. Men like incels, and men's rights activists, can only be defeated by other men or as Bates puts it "Men who hate men who hate Women". These men are vital and important and for those who may call Bates a "man hater" she clearly believes in men and their ability to turn the tide of extremism.
For people familiar with incels, men's rights activists they may not encounter a lot of new information but I believe it is still a worthwhile read. I would recommend this book to everyone but particularly parents with young children. Because with this information you can prevent your child from falling down a path towards extremism and hate.

While this book is gravely dark and disappointing, I believe it is a necessary read. Especially for men.
