This book was sooo much more informative and comprehensive than I assumed it would be. I learned so much and this is a great starting point for anyone trying to understand the manosphere, the alt right and it’s effects.

A very comprehensive introduction to the topic. However, I am already pretty familiar so this book didn’t really do anything new. I think this is much more helpful and relevant to people who are not in the same
online spaces as I am (YouTube directly critiquing the YouTube she talks about). I wish it focused more on how the radicalization happens and how to counteract it rather than just what the radicalization looks like.

Graphic: Ableism, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Racial slurs, Racism, Rape, Sexism, Transphobia
It’s so disheartening to see how these issues are covered in the mainstream- and in a lot of cases, not covered.
The final few chapters examining how younger generations are indoctrinated and how we handle that, was both worrying but also hopeful. We need to be taking a more interventionist approach to misogyny, rather than tackling problems after it’s too late.
Social media companies definitely need to be held accountable for the role they have played in the proliferation of anti-women rhetoric. Radicalisation has never been so easy.
