DID NOT FINISH: 17%

Might pick it back up again just not the vibe rn

Reread January 2022

I got to say I was just a little nervous before I picked this up to reread that I wouldn’t love it the same as I did the first time. But let me tell you something, I totally 100% did love it just as much as the first time. It’s still FANTASTIC in my eyes and one of my favorites.

I love that it’s kinda for sure a found family between this group of characters as they try and pull of the entire plot of this book. The characters are all amazing and still some of my favorites. I didn’t remember everything from my first read so I’m glad I’ve reread it because my goal for 2022 is to finally finish off era 1 because I’ve had Hero of Ages unread for forever.

The magic in these books, the plot and the setting and the characters is just straight A+ from me. Cannot wait to reread book 2!

First read 2018

HOLY. CRAP. SOO. GOOD.

I literally can’t right now. WHAT.

I’ve been putting off reading this for years. I bought the first book during either the first or second #booktubeathon with the sale on book depository and hadn’t picked it up until now. I’ve been so intimidated by this due to just the hype that this series gets. I’ve been so nervous that I wouldn’t like it that I’ve just stared longingly at it on my shelves for years.

But I’ve got to tell you though, IT WAS 100% WORTH IT HOLY CEAP I LOVED IT.

How Brandon Sanderson created this world I will never understand in the slightest. It’s so complex and the magic system is amazing and the characters are so great too. Like it must have taken him forever to just craft this world in the slightest. I’m shooketh.

The entire last chunk of this book just like *mind blown* what insanity because wow. I wasn’t expecting for all of this to happen in this amount of time.

The next book NEEDS to come in the mail like NOW. I need it in my life NOW. I must know what happens next!

I know it's too late to dive into Brandon Sanderson's world. But, finally after I decided to jump into it through the first book of Mistborn, I can only say that it is amazing. SO AMAZING.

Honestly, when talking about fantasy books, I always say that fantasy books should not be made minimalist, fantasy should be big, and this book potrays it well. Although that the writing style ain't really amazes me, i found that the world-building is arranged epically, the magic system is made very interesting, and of course the plot is very neat.

Raising the theme of the rebellion against tyranny, slavery, and injustice of the social strata, this book successfully made me enter it, completely. I liked how Brandon Sanderson describes every characters. The protagonist who has many weaknesses and makes a lot of mistakes, but is able to learn and improve upon them—not a character who suddenly becomes super strong and invincible. Also loved how The Lord Ruler described as a feared figure with a mysterious superpowers without actually included directly in the story, but i can still understand his character; the fears that the protagonist face to fight against him.

There's a time when i find it's getting a bit boring, but still 4.75 STARS for me, yeah.
