This is a great book! Personally I’m not as in love with the magic system as most people are. I prefer more mystical magic. That said, the characters in this book are so incredibly beloved. The twists and reveals at the end are amazing! That alone almost bumped it to a five star read. Ive heard the following books are even better so I can’t wait!
3.5. Took a while to get through, but had an overall interesting ending. Not sure I will follow this series though, as this book can be a stand alone.

The hype is worth it. It was slow to start. A lot of character development and world building but I fell In love with the crew at f characters and laughed and cried and remained hopeful. The magic system is unique and exciting. If you like found family, rebellion, heroes that are sometimes villains, and secrets then this is the story for you.

this was my 3rd attempt at reading Mistborn. i’m giving up indefinitely. the way Sanderson writes gives me a migraine. he over explains A LOT. this was published in 2006 so maybe his more recent works are better? let me know.

my only grievance is the lack of powerful female characters beside the main character, hopefully that’s improved in the other books ! otherwise i enjoyed this a lot- a good fantasy world to fall into with good pacing and good characters !!
Relatively quick read compared to the Stormlight Archives from Brandon Sanderson, but a wonderfully rich world revealed through the eyes of the key protagonist. Hooked, again, on a Sanderson series.
