The plot is, again, better than the film. Mostly disappointed that Rebecca wasn’t a lesbian
Oh bridgette

okay like......definitely an improvement on the first one (perhaps lack of daniel cleaver helped lmao)
i do kind of wish these books weren't ENTIRELY diary entries, i think there can be a good balance between diary entries and regular storytelling
still not much looking forward to third book, i never intended to read it knowing the premise, but since i'm not gonna be rereading these again, i'll go ahead and do it, but it's just like.....ugh why did you have to do that helen fielding. wonder if she always planned to do a third and it just took time or if she thought she was done and was like "oh i've got something"
also i do gotta say as someone who's like "yeah gotta change" and then doesn't i do love a "she's just like me fr" character like bridget, it's just nice to relate! even though a lot of the things she does/situations she ends up in like....very very different from me
being creepy about a teenage boy ugh why do people think it's humorous when adult women do it like i assure you it is just as gross as men waiting for teenage girls to be ~legal~
i feel kinda sad seeing jude marrying that guy, i know people can change and we hadn't actually really MET his character before, but it sounded like he consistently treated her terribly in the first book, so like...boo
LOVED everything with colin firth, i'll give her that, losing the voicemail message was v funny
anyway yeah like still has A LOT of bits that i just had to cringe through and move on, but def not as bad as the first one imo
