A book within a book as a gothic horror novel appears to be inspiring a very modern murderer. Elly Griffiths’ books often have a hint of the supernatural, an this standalone has a great big helping. An enjoyable read, and nicely wrapped up. I enjoyed the shifting viewpoints between the female leads (yay for female leads!) and hope DS Kaur might make a reappearance in the future.

Super fun and spooky read! 4.5 Stars! I don't usually like contemporary thrillers, but this one had me glued to my book for the last 5 chapters. Really awesome and such great characters. Perfect read for Halloween!
