Teresa just wants to save her brother…and falling in love with the crime lord’s son isn’t how she expects to make that happen.
I didn’t dislike this, exactly, but it also never really clicked for me. I need a certain level of swooniness in my romance and I never fell for the MMC here, which didn’t help my overall enjoyment.
I did enjoy the suspense side of the plot, and appreciated that it made sense and added to the story overall. It did resolve a little bit quickly, but that was also in keeping with the romance-focused nature of things, so I didn’t mind too much.
If you’re a TB fan (and at this point I certainly am, she is one of my most-read authors over the last year or so), this is worth the read, though it’s not a standout favorite for me.
CW: Violence/gun violence; mentions of pet illness
