The idea for the story was great, but I just had trouble connecting to any of the characters. I couldn't get invested in the story.
This is a very quirky and dark novel with its literary complexity. I enjoyed the storyline in this book although its language was hard going and I found myself often re-reading chapters to grasp the meaning and general sense. An interesting take on concepts of death, madness, love, human imperfections.
I had high hopes based on the reviews - however they weren't met. The premise was never fully explained and the plot became this circuitous morass that was impossible to navigate.
