I did it you guys. I finally broke my months-long reading slump and read this whole book. It really hooked me and I think the ending speaks volumes about human perseverance.

This was not what I was expecting. This is my first Paul Tremblay book and I do have to say that his writing is not my favorite, but the story was really good. I did not like how a character would all of a sudden would go to a flash back that did not have anything to do with the story.

BUT there were a lot of twist in the story that I was not expecting. The first 100sih pages were kind of boring, and I felt like the bad guys could have been introduced with a little more foreshadowing before hand.

What even was this ?
Hated that there was no real explanation, it made everything feel so pointless. I thought maybe everything would all come together at the end.
Also the ending was just a ton of internal monologue and standing still — I kept waiting for that big moment that just never came.

Audiobook. I liked the narration, despite what other reviewers said

This was like reading a horror movie. It was fun but had quite a bit of gore. I’m not sure how I felt about the overall premise but I enjoyed reading it. Though I would have preferred a less frustrating ending, for the most part it was good.
